President Jimmy Carter gave away the Panama Canal and Clinton tried to turn over control of the Internet to International mangement.
But this past June adults were in charge when the "Bush commerce Department announced the United States would “maintain its historic role” in authorizing changes to the Internet’s domain name system. That statement is widely viewed as a step back from a 1998 Commerce policy. "
Still the U.N. is salivating at the thought of controling the Web.Web Wrestling At The U.N.
If John Bolton does nothing else at the UN other than keeping that global body from appropriating the Internet, then his appointment was well worth the acrimony it caused.
