What if the Democrats take over Congress in 2006

The Democrats keeps putting off announcing their agenda for 2006.

If we can't determine what they're for, lets look at what they're against. First of all we can wave good-bye to Bush's tax cuts. Although, they are for reducing the Alternative Minimum Tax - 26% over $58,000. And it should be reduced, but it's the only tax Democrats hate because it affects the eastern blue states disproportionately. Senator Schumer (D-NY) is a big supporter of reducing the AMT since it hits New York hard where salaries and living costs are higher than average. The same with California.

While the AMT will be reduced, look for taxes on the middle class to be increased along with the capital gains tax and dividends. The repeal of the estate tax. Clinton was fortunate to ride the dot com bubble, but a Democrat congress in 2006 may not be as lucky should they institute all their tax increases. But, unlike Bush, they will come to power with a strong economy

Impeachment of President Bush, or at least censure, will be their number one task. The House is responsible for drawing up articles of impeachment and one of the most radical of Democrat congressmen, John Conyers (D-MI) will be the chair of the House Judiciary Committee. He has already held an impeachment rehearsal. Never mind that their efforts will go for naught. They will have gotten revenge for Clinton impeachment and it will feed fresh meat to the Bush hating left.

If ex-vice president Gore has any influence in 2006, you can expect support for the Kyoto Treaty. Even Clinton did not support the Kyoto treaty since it would devastate the US economy and would not affect big polluters China and India.

US Troops will be "redeployed" - John Mutha's word for cut and run from Iraq - showing the world that the US no longer has the will to protect their national interests and will not support allies in the war on terror.

The US will continue its march towards European socialism and laws. We will not see judges like Roberts and Alito appointed to the Supreme Court or any other court. There'll be an alliance between Democrats and judges to adjudicate their culture agenda. If liberal judges can't find US president, they'll use foreign law as the Supreme Court majority found in the recent decision to exempt 18 year olds, and younger, from capital punishment. In that decision the Court incorporated foreign views -- and decisively rejected the arguments of those on the court, led by Scalia, who say it should consider US law exclusively.

The court also said, " The court weighs death penalty laws according to what a 1958 ruling called the 'evolving standards of decency that mark the progress of a maturing society,' and looks to state legislation and jury verdicts to decide whether a 'national consensus' has developed against a previously accepted practice."

So if the Democrats come to power, we'll have more unelected, appointed for life judges using foreign law and national consensus to push the liberal agenda.

Rush: (guy has sex with sheep)

Dear Rush please stop talking dirty.

Teasing a story, Rush told us today that he'd be right back to tell us about a guy having sex with a sheep.

Rush, come on, that story might have been funny back in the 70s, but now it just cheapens your show. I remember telling a joke when I was in grade school about a guy helping a sheep through a fence.

Rush seems to relish "dirty talk." I can remember when, for one week, he talked about women "farting" in their cars. He thought it was so clever that this word, spelled differently, but pronounced the same (as the word for passing gas), could refer to women putting on make up in their cars. I know, I know it isn't spelled that way, but today he told us that one stations kept him off the air when he talked about women "farting." And don't tell me he didn't relish the misunderstanding.

I am a staunch conservative converted to the right by Rush. I remember the exact issue of my conversion - He pointed out that so called cuts in federal spending were actually cuts in the growth of spending. Clinton's duplicity in using the words "spending cuts" insulted my sense of what defines honesty as did Clinton in general.

It's because I'm one of your fans, Rush, that I ask you to lay off the dirty talk and just talk politics. Of course you could always claim that the guy screwing the sheep was on Social Security.
